The number of cases dealth with by the national police services reached 53 in 15 cities, said the National Police (DGSN) in a press release, adding that 213,511 face masks were seized, including masks produced randomly and not in compliance with safety standards, others bearing counterfeit trade marks, which do not meet health and safety conditions and which threaten the health safety of citizens, in addition to masks intended for illegal export seized from an English national of Indian origin.
The individuals arrested in connection with these cases have been remanded in police custody for the territorially competent prosecution to determine all the criminal charges brought against them, said the DGSN, adding that the police seized all products, materials and masks produced outside the legal and health framework and which constitute a serious and real threat to the safety and security of citizens.
The national police services are intensifying their security operations aimed at arresting all accomplices and participants involved in these criminal acts which affect the health security of citizens, the statement concluded.
