In addition, the number of cases excluded after negative laboratory results amounts to 13,340 (more than 1,000 new cases), he said.
In addition to family outbreaks, El Youbi pointed out that other epidemic outbreaks have also been reported in industrial units with a greater number of cases, adding in this regard that a new outbreak took place in Casablanca (31 cases ).
He also reported two outbreaks in Tangier with 15 and 31 cases respectively, thus reaching 55 for the first and 42 for the second.
Another outbreak was noted in Larache with 13 additional cases, bringing the total number of contaminations to 48, in addition to another outbreak on a smaller scale in Oujda (six contaminations), he said.
He noted that careful monitoring of the health condition of contact persons in the past 24 hours revealed 80% of the cases, that is a total of 153 cases out of the 191 cases recorded in 24 hours, stressing that 5,814 cases of contact persons are still under medical observation.
Regarding the geographic distribution of the total of confirmed cases so far, El Youbi said that more than 50% of cases have been recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat and Marrakech-Safi.
Regarding the "mortality rate", he reported a decrease, due to the early detection of cases, explaining that this percentage reached 4.7%, while the rate of recoveries stood at 11.5%.
Regarding the age distribution, the official reported a decrease in the average age of confirmed cases, which reached 42 years, while the relative distribution remained unchanged, the age bracket of 40 to 65 years constituting more than 38%, followed by 25 and 40 years.
He also pointed out that there is a difference in these rates and percentages between the patients cured and those who died. In this regard, the average age of recovered people is 48, while the rate for deceased people is 65, he noted, adding that the gender distribution for cured patients remains fair (50 % for men and 50% for women), while mortality among women represents 34% (almost a third) and two thirds among men.
El Youbi also said that the health of 96% of recovered patients at the start of treatment was stable, while 4% of them are in critical condition, noting that only 20% of deceased people were cared for from the start in a stable state of health. In addition, 80% of them were admitted in critical condition.
