In an article published by the electronic newspaper "Tribuna libre", Infante stressed that Morocco adopted a "rapid" and "decisive" response as soon as the first cases of the disease were confirmed, through closing borders, suspending air traffic and taking a set of precautionary measures to curb the spread of the deadly virus, noting that the effectiveness of these measures were welcomed by several countries and international organizations, including the United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO).
This "unprecedented" strategy adopted by Morocco, following the high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, is aimed at safeguarding the health and security of citizens and mitigating the social and economic repercussions of the pandemic, he said, adding that the Kingdom has also taken several measures to support affected businesses and employees as well as vulnerable groups.
He also noted that his institution is following closely the different stages of the implementation of this strategy, which is marked by transparency and clarity, in addition to the involvement of all establishments and institutions in the country as part of a collective and coordinated action.
This approach, based on the cultural and civilizational characteristics of the Kingdom, has also focused on restricting movement, while tightening sanctions against those who do not respect confinement rules, he noted.
The expert, who commended the Royal pardon granted to over 5,600 inmates, also highlighted efforts made by Morocco to fight against fake news and in these exceptional circumstances.
