The group's total revenue gained 4% to 9.3 billion dirhams, Maroc Telecom said in a release.
The operator also reported a 0.9% rise in adjusted first-quarter profit to 1.6 billion dirhams, while customer base grew by 11.3% to 69 million.
“The results of this first quarter are driven by the positive momentum of customer base and Data revenue across the countries in which the Group operates," Abdeslam Ahizoune, Chairman of Maroc Telecom Management Board, said as quoted in the release.
"In the current context of health crisis and lockdown, the Group remains fully mobilized for the protection of its employees and its customers. The Group has managed to ensure the availability and continuity of its services under exceptional conditions imposed by the pandemic. It thus quickly mobilized technological resources to increase the capacities of the networks in order to face the increase in Data usage," he added.
