The policy adopted by Morocco, it noted, will guide Africa's efforts in these exceptional circumstances and enable the continent to cope with the health emergency resulting from the spread of the coronavirus, while addressing the economic and social damage caused by this pandemic.
The Kingdom's readiness to "accompany the countries of the African continent to quickly return to pre-pandemic growth rates, makes Morocco a model on which the African renaissance should be built," said Italian expert Marco Baratto in an article entitled "The Kingdom of Morocco, promoter of African solidarity in the face of Covid-19".
In this article published by the information site Politicamente Corretto, Baratto noted, in the context of the state of emergency decreed because of the coronavirus, "Morocco makes available to Africa the good practices implemented mainly in the production of artificial respirators and medical equipment".
He said that Morocco is "the ideal country to carry out the project of African unity, a unity that respects the different socio-cultural realities and, at the same time, federates the African economic space".
Highly commending the initiative of HM the King to unite the efforts of African countries in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, he stressed that this initiative is part of the royal policy aimed at "making Morocco a reference not only geographically but also politically for a new pan-African policy".
For its part, the newspaper La Stampa wrote that in order to ensure effective coordination among African countries to combat the spread of the coronavirus, the Sovereign proposed, during telephone conversations with Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, and Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, to launch an initiative for the Heads of State of the African Union aimed at establishing an operational framework to accompany African countries during the various stages of the management of the pandemic.
The daily also noted that Morocco has "reacted quickly to the epidemic, which has placed the Kingdom at the forefront of countries that have adopted strict global measures".
According to the newspaper, Morocco has shown "real national solidarity" in the face of the coronavirus and has mobilized substantial funds to mitigate its economic and social repercussions.
The Italian daily Sicurezza Internazionale, for its part, highlighted the initiative of HM the King who proposed the launch of an initiative for African Heads of State with the aim of establishing an operational framework to support African countries during the various stages of their management of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This initiative is a "concrete illustration" of HM the King's ongoing support to Africa in various fields and of the Sovereign's active role in the exchange of experiences and the transfer of knowledge between African countries and in the service of the continent's interests, stressed the publication.
