The woman in her ninth month of pregnancy was admitted on April 6 in the emergency department dedicated to patients affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19), explains the CHU in a statement.

 The patient, who was transferred from El Hassani hospital of Nador in coordination with the emergency medical assistance service was taken care of in a pavilion of the university hospital reserved for pregnant women who tested positive for coronavirus, where she underwent all the necessary medical examinations and began to receive treatment validated by the ministry of Health.

The delivery took place by caesarean section on April 9 in a surgical complex dedicated exclusively to pregnant women suffering from the coronavirus, under the supervision of a medical team, adds the same source while affirming that the operation took place in good conditions.

The mother, whose state of health is stable, is continuing her treatment in the coronavirus hospitalization service, and the newborn is in good health and tests have confirmed that he has not been contaminated by the virus, the statement stresses.
