"Since the onset of the coronavirus crisis, billions of euros have been mobilized by states and international institutions to try to cushion the country from the economic shock. However, access to this aid remains sometimes very difficult for poor populations. Faced with the emergency, Morocco is multiplying sometimes very innovative initiatives to help them," said the French radio channel.
The first measure targeted unemployed workers registered with the National Social Security Fund, said the media outlet, adding that about 800,000 people have already registered themselves.
For people who do not have social security coverage, Morocco has used Ramed, which includes around 6 million households, added RFI in an article entitled "In Morocco, Amid a pandemic, solidarity with the most deprived gets organized".
Through an electronic platform, aid of a maximum value of 1,200 dirhams can be granted, it was noted, adding that it is not the only platform to emerge, because there is another one intended for those who are not registered anywhere and who have their identity card as the only administrative document for which requests will be based on a declaration on honor.
As for the financing, the 33-billion fund benefited from contributions not only from the State by also from companies.
