In an article entitled "Virus Covid-19: the royal plan to deal with the crisis", the agency states that the measures taken by Morocco were based, from the outset, on a preventive and proactive approach to contain the epidemic, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
In accordance with the High royal directives, the agency adds, the clinical resuscitation capacity has been reinforced, noting that military medicine has been mobilized alongside its civil counterpart in the fight against the epidemic during the state of health emergency that started on 20 March.
"From the outset, Morocco closed the borders, then adopted health quarantine and social distancing and imposed the wearing of protective masks," says NOVA, noting that the security forces ensure compliance with these measures.
Morocco's plan to combat the coronavirus epidemic is "multidimensional" and includes "diverse and far-reaching" measures to curb the spread of the virus and counter the economic and social impact of the epidemic, all of which constitute a Moroccan "Marshall plan", the Italian news agency underlines.
The same source recalls that the public authorities "have mobilized strongly" to provide support to the populations most affected by the economic slowdown, in particular through the special Fund launched by HM King Mohammed VI, which has so far collected more than 32 billion dirhams in donations.
NOVA also mentions the creation of an economic monitoring Committee to "assess and anticipate the direct and indirect economic impact of Covid-19", adding that the Committee has adopted a series of proactive financial measures targeting the entire population most affected by the epidemic.
Furthermore, the Nova Agency points out that, in order to prevent the spread of infection in prisons, HM King Mohammed VI granted royal pardon for the benefit of 5,654 inmates and ordered that all necessary measures be taken to strengthen the protection of inmates in prisons, particularly against the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.
