According to the director of the Mohammed VI Hospital of Tangier, Dr Mounir Marrakchi, the cured case is a German woman residing in Morocco, aged 78, who was treated according to the protocol adopted by the ministry of Health, mainly based on chloroquine. The patient responded well to the treatment and suffered no side effects, he said.
The patient was declared cured following two negative laboratory tests carried out 48 hours apart, Dr Marrakchi said, noting that she went to Mohammed V Hospital in Tangier in pain, where she was tested positive for coronavirus.
In addition, he explained that the Mohammed VI Hospital takes care of critical cases requiring intensive care and resuscitation, stressing that many patients have responded well to treatment and have been transferred, after their health improved, to other hospitals in Tangier specializing in the management of cases of contamination by the new coronavirus.
