Rabat: Individual Suspected of Chira Trafficking and Violation of State of Health Emergency Arrested, Police

Rabat - The Anti-gang squad under the Rabat police prefecture arrested, on the basis of precise information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance, an individual for his alleged involvement in a case of possession and trafficking of chira and psychotropic pills and violation of the state of health emergency.

The suspect, aged 33, was arrested aboard a rental car in the "Takaddoum" neighbourhood in Rabat, immediately upon his arrival from a city in the north of the Kingdom, said the national police (DGSN) in a press release, adding that the security control operation revealed the defective use by the suspect of the exceptional movement authorization in order to transport a cargo of illegal substance composed of 6,419 psychotropic and ecstasy pills, in addition to 500 grams of chira.

The suspect was remanded in police custody for the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, according to the same source.
