Morocco’s diplomatic representations will ensure the implementation of this decision in consultation with the families of the deceased, the ministry said Saturday in a release.
This new measure is intended to support Moroccans living abroad as well as their families in these particular times, "during which each one of us must show patriotism, responsibility and solidarity" and understand the difficult situation facing the world today, it added.
"The Delegate Ministry in charge of Moroccans abroad has always ensured the repatriation of the remains of the deceased Moroccans in close coordination with diplomatic representations and consular centers of the Kingdom abroad, as part of a program of support to Moroccans living abroad who are in precarious situation and who do not have the necessary remains repatriation insurance," the source pointed out.
The department welcomed the strong mobilization of all diplomatic representations and consular services in the host countries and commended their efforts to assist Moroccans living abroad in this exceptional situation.
