According to El Youbi, 3,062 suspected cases were excluded following negative tests.
Regarding the geographical spread of the virus, Casablanca-Settat is the worst-hit region, ahead of Marrakech-Safi, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra and Fez-Meknes, he said.
He added that 85% of patients did not have symptoms or were in mild condition when they were taken into hospitals, while 15% were in serious or critical condition.
Foreign cases represent 25% of the total of cases, while local cases increased to reach 75%, he said. This shows that the virus is spreading in the country, he noted.
The official underlined the need to observe confinement and hygiene rules to stop the spread of the pandemic.
