"We must be patient and continue to observe scrupulously the measures introduced by our country in order to stop the spread of this health crisis," said Director of Epidemiology and the Fight against Diseases at the Ministry of Health, Mohamed El Youbi, in an interview Wednesday with the Moroccan News Agency (MAP).
These measures, "are intended to safeguard our well-being, in order to stop this epidemic, so that life can resume, children can go to school again and economic activity can continue", he explained.
This health crisis should serve as a lesson in terms of "our behavior, since we are now all forced to adapt to this new situation."
"Our habits have certainly been changed, but we are certainly called on to wash our hands and observe other precautionary measures to prevent the spread not only of Covid-19, but also of other diseases," he said.
Twenty-one new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Morocco from Tuesday night until Wednesday at 8:00 a.m., bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 638, according to the ministry of Health.
The number of deaths due to coronavirus stands at 37, while 26 people have recovered from the disease.
