Contrary to the fake news spread by some on this subject, "I am in a normal condition and there are no worrying symptoms," the minister said in an interview with Al-Jazeera.net.
"My condition is steadily improving", he added, stressing that his confinement at home could last "two weeks".
Amara said that he continues to perform his duties from home, "particularly in these exceptional circumstances that the Kingdom and the rest of the world are going through due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic," adding that he uses communication platforms to keep in touch with the secretary general and other officials of his department.
The minister underlined that he implements all the necessary precautionary measures at home, in particular safe distancing measures.
He added that following his arrival to Morocco at the end of a working visit to Europe, he suffered from headaches and fatigue.
"After a medical advice, tests confirmed that I was infected with Covid-19," he added.
The minister commended the solidarity spirit shown by Moroccans in these painful economic times, calling on everyone to implement the measures issued by public authorities.
