In a statement received by MAP on Tuesday, the CNOM "praises this courageous and responsible decision, which clearly expresses the will to preserve the health of all participants, as well as to ensure the principle of equality between all athletes in the preparation for the Olympic Games".

The Committee "affirms its unwavering support for the IOC and the Tokyo organising committee to implement and respect the new decisions that will be taken to ensure the success of these Games and which will be communicated to the national sports federations," the statement said.

The CNOM called on Moroccan national federations and athletes to seize the opportunity of the postponement of the Olympic Games to complete their preparations for the new date, the Committee said, reiterating its commitment to mobilize all necessary means to support its athletes in collaboration with the ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
