A statement by the embassy said that the consular affairs service will be temporarily suspended, adding that two telephone lines (00905372610590 and 00905526156175) are available to members of the Moroccan community to enquire, if necessary, about consular services.
In view of the current exceptional situation, the embassy also indicated that it is in permanent contact with the Moroccan and Turkish authorities concerning the security of members of the Moroccan community, urging them to rely on the information published by the services of the embassy in Ankara and the consulate general of the Kingdom in Istanbul as the only sources of information on the management of the affairs of the Moroccan community in Turkey, the aim being to ensure the supervision of Moroccan nationals and the monitoring of their situation in a healthy atmosphere.
Members of the Moroccan community living in Turkey can get information from March 23-29 from the services of the Kingdom's embassy in Ankara and the consulate general in Istanbul via the embassy's accounts on Facebook and Twitter, as well as the phone numbers of the monitoring cells of the embassy and the consulate general in Istanbul, the statement added.
The embassy of the Kingdom pointed out that following the spread of Covid-19, the Turkish authorities have decided that no action will be taken with regard to foreign nationals whose period of stay has expired.
It also called on members of the Moroccan community concerned by this measure to transmit copies of their passports and telephone numbers via the embassy's e-mail address ([email protected]) in order to take the necessary measures.
