These procedures are part of the urgent preventive measures taken to face the exceptional situation facing Morocco, and given the responsibilities of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for the protection of residents of Child Protection Centers from the danger of the spread of the new coronavirus, the ministry said in a press release.
It is also in accordance with the request made by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, spokesperson for the government, and presented to the deputy chairman of the higher Council of the Judiciary and the president of the Public Prosecutor's Office, to examine the legal possibilities to change the procedures taken against these minors, so as to preserve the general interest and public health, as well as to protect administrative and educational executives, according to the same source.
In this regard, the ministry would like to welcome the positive interaction of the deputy chairman of the Higher Council of the Judiciary and the president of the public prosecutor's office through the issuing of two circulars on the subject, the statement said.
The ministry also welcomed the strong adherence to this operation and efforts made by the first presidents of the Courts of Appeal, the presidents of the courts of first instance, the attorneys general, the public prosecutors and the judges of minors as well as all administrative and educational executives in Child Protection Centers, concluded the press release.
