Individual Arrested in Casablanca for Possession of Drugs and Marketing of Movement Authorization, Police

Rabat - Police services from the Sidi Bernoussi district of Casablanca arrested, Saturday afternoon, a 53-year-old individual suspected of possession of drugs, marketing the exceptional movement authorization required as part of the state of health emergency and the unauthorized sale of paramedical equipment.

The National Police (DGSN) said, in a press release, that a joint patrol of policemen and the local authorities arrested the accused aboard a car in the Anassi district of Casablanca, red-handed while marketing paramedical masks and copies of the exceptional movement authorization issued by the public authorities to regulate movement and fight the spread of the new coronavirus.

The search operation led to the seizure of 43 copies of the exceptional authorization and 9 paramedical masks intended for sale, in addition to a quantity of cannabis and a sum of money suspected of resulting from this criminal activity.

The suspect was remanded in police custody for the preliminary investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, concluded the DGSN.
