Built on a surface area of 1,700 m2, the vivarium hosts more than 150 animals representing 46 species of reptiles, including snakes, crocodiles and turtles, and their biotopes that stretch from Morocco to Madagascar.
After cutting the inaugural ribbon, HRH Princess Lalla Khadija visited the different spaces of the vivarium which host reptiles from different parts of Africa.
These are the Morocco Area, the Subtropical area, the Afro-alpine area, the South Saharan area, the Equatorial area and the Malagasy area.
These areas showcase the incredible wealth of the African herpetological biodiversity.
Upon her arrival at Rabat's National Zoological Park, HRH Princess Lalla Khadija reviewed a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces that made the honors before being greeted notably by High Commissioner for Water, Forests and the fight against desertification, Abdeladim Lhafi, Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, Mohamed Yacoubi, and President of the region, Abdessamad Sekkal.
