The timeline, entitled "from occupation to independence", presents in writing and pictures the big dates of the Moroccan history over 50 years starting in 1906 with the Algeciras Conference and ending in 1956 with the independence of Morocco.
Set up permanently in the Foundation's premises, the timeline can be seen by all visitors and will enable them to get informed about the main events of the country's contemporary history, marked by the continuous fight by all the people to recover their freedom and by the symbiosis between the Alawite throne and the National Movement.
On this occasion, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan headed to the conference room where the Foundation's president Khalid El Kadiri gave a speech in which he said that preserving collective memory and handing it down to young generations is a pivotal mission to safeguard collective identity and the social fabric, underscoring the role of education and cultural action in reinforcing the patriotic spirit as well as the efforts by the first generation of nationalists, with the steadfast support of late HM King Mohammed V, late HM King Hassan II and late HRH Princess Lalla Aicha which helped mobilize the nation's lifeblood to retrieve the Kingdom's independence.
HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan went afterwards to the entrance hall where he inaugurated the Abu Bakr El Kadiri Foundation for Thinking and Culture's timeline.
On this occasion, details were given by the president to His Royal Highness on the different historical stages in the timeline.
HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, then, visited the Foundation's library and was given a box containing memories of late Abu Bakr El Kadiri.
At his arrival at the Foundation's headquarters, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard that paid the honors and was greeted by wali of the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra region Mohammed Yacoubi, president of the region Abdessamad Sekkal, governor of the prefecture of Sale Omar Touimi, president of the municipal council of Sale JamaĆ¢ MoĆ¢tassim, president of Sale prefectural council Hammani Amhzoune, president of the Abu Bakr El Kadiri Foundation for Thinking and Culture Khalid El Kadiri, as well as by representatives of local authorities and members of the Foundation.
