Upon his arrival at the ceremony, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, president of the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association (ATH), reviewed a section of the Auxiliary Forces that made the honors before being greeted by minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicraft, and Social Economy, Mohamed Sajid, minister of Youth and Sports, Rachid Talbi Alami, as well as by other personalities.
His Royal Highness was also greeted by Chairman of the European Ladies Tour (LET), Mark Lichtenhein, and European Tour Chief Executive Keith Pelley, before heading for the VIP lounge to watch the end of the Hassan II Trophy competition.
Following the announcement of the winners, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid handed the Hassan II Trophy to Spanish Jorge Campillo and Lalla Meryem Cup to Spain's Nuria Iturrios.
After posing for a souvenir photo with the two winners, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid also awarded the second and third prizes of the Hassan II Golf competition.
Speaking on this occasion, Mark Lichtenhein expressed his gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI, while commending the commitment of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid to supporting the development of women's golf through building on the foundations laid by late HM Hassan II.
"We have attended an amazing feast that celebrates men's and women's golf," he said, adding that he will remain committed to supporting these two events.
For his part, Keith Pelley pointed out that Morocco is one of the top destinations of the European Tour, while expressing, on behalf of this body, his sincere thanks to HM the King for hosting the European tour for the 42nd time.
Pelley then highlighted the good quality of the organization, adding that the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association is committed to providing state-of-the-art golf facilities.
He said, in this regard, that the Dar Es-Salam Royal Golf remains one of the most difficult courses in the world.
Afterwards, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid handed the 1st prize of the Pro-Am competition of the Lalla Meryem Cup to the team led by Swedish professional golfer Jenny Haglund, as well as the 1st prize of the Pro-Am of the Hassan II Trophy to the team led by US golfer Kurt Kitayama.
A total of 156 players of different nationalities took part in the 46th Hassan II Trophy, while 126 golfers participated in the 25th Lalla Meryem Cup.
