After the Al Asr and the dead prayers at the Ashuhada mosque, the deceased was buried in the cemetery in the presence of mainly his family members, head of government Saad Eddine El Othmani, historiographer and royal palace spokesperson Abdelhak Lamrini and other figures from the sphere of culture and literature.

In this painful time, HM King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences to the family of the deceased in which the Sovereign said he was deeply saddened by news of the passing of one of the pioneers of Moroccan contemporary literature.

While remembering the human qualities of the deceased, his sincere patriotism and unwavering attachment to the glorious Alawite throne, the sovereign prayed God to give his loved ones patience and comfort. 

Born in Fez in 1932, the deceased, who is also the author of many books, had won the Grand Prix of Morocco in 1982 and received, in 1992, the King Faisal International Prize for Children's literature.
