On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Malika handed over corrective eyeglasses to residents of the Ahmed Ben Zaid Al Nahayane institution and students of a vocational training center and some schools in the Skhirat-Temara prefecture, and wheelchairs to some residents with disabilities in the institution, as well as a lot of hygiene products.
CRM's National Week launching ceremony was marked by the organization of a medico-social campaign for vulnerable populations in the Skhirat-Temara prefecture, under the theme "Acting together and for all," which consists of general and specialized medical consultations in diabetes, oncology and ophthalmology, as well as analysis and visual impairment testing operations.
Organized in partnership with local authorities and Ministries of Health and Interior, the campaign is led by more than 100 medical, technical and administrative staff and will benefit 6,500 people.
HRH Princess Lalla Malika noted in a speech that the theme chosen for this year, "Acting together and for all," has special meaning in a context where human suffering and crises have taken multiple and complex forms, resulting from a succession of natural disasters and wars.
She added that this situation requires the development of services involving all stakeholders and responding effectively to the needs and expectations of all, according to new approaches that promote the role of citizens as real actors.
Since the Moroccan Red Crescent is in the forefront of the response to the growing number of crises and the resulting human catastrophes, it is urgent to invest more in initiatives supporting the preparation for and resistance to crises, including strengthening proactive capabilities of humanitarian organizations so that they can take a more holistic and effective approach to respond to crisis situations and provide assistance to all those in need, underlined HRH Lalla Malika.
