HRH Princess Lalla Salma is taking part in the event in her capacity of chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment. The meeting, attended by HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al Missned, chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, was marked by a speech of executive chairman of the Lalla Salma Foundation Rachid Bekkali in which he surveyed the Moroccan experience in providing medical care for cancer patients for reasonable prices.
He highlighted the National Plan for Cancer Prevention and Control, run by the Lalla Salma Foundation, as a roadmap to contain the disease and provide health care for its patients.
The Plan offers quality health care for patients across the national territory for affordable prices, he said, recalling the proximity approach by the said Plan which enables cancer patients to receive the necessary medical care at home by specialized physicians.
Bekkali also stressed the role by civil society organizations in assisting patients in their regions.
The second WISH was attended by over 1000 participants from 80 countries.
