On her arrival at Al Amal Hospital, Her Royal Highness was greeted by Ms. Hanane al-Kawari, General Director of Hamad Health Foundation.
HRH Princess Lalla Salma followed the explanations given by Director of the Radiotherapy Department at the Hamad Health Foundation, Ms. Noura Mohammad Al- Hamadi, on the actions and activities of the center, its legal and professional framework, and its objectives as part of the Qatar development Vision 2030.
HRH Princess Lalla Salma, paid a visit later to the various facilities of Al Amal Hospital, in which explanations were provided to Her Royal Highness on hospital services and state-of-the -art equipment.
Al Amal Oncology Hospital provides services for early diagnosis, treatment, counseling, rehabilitation and education of patients and their families. It offers medical equipment and staff to support the 3000-4500 patients per year.
The hospital features 82 beds for men, women and children, three radiotherapy machines, laboratories, chemotherapy and surgery services, and scanners.
Spanning on an area of 14,000 m² for a budget of 90 million Qatari riyals, Al Amal Hospital has eight diagnosis and treatment rooms as well as a chemotherapy service, including a short-stay unit with a capacity of 14 beds, and a radiotherapy department, the first of its kind in Qatar.
At the end of the visit, Ms. Hanane al- Kawari presented to Her Royal Highness the shield of Hamad Health Foundation in recognition of the continued commitment of the Princess in the field of health.
