In the message, His Majesty the King expressed to the German Chancellor his warm congratulations and sincere wishes for health, happiness and success in achieving progress and prosperity for the German people.

   "The great victory achieved by the party of the Christian Democratic Union in the German parliamentary elections, under your wise leadership, clearly demonstrates the trust that  the German people have put in you, and the great respect for your high human qualities, your distinguished political foresight, your high sense of responsibility, and your dedication to serve its best interests," said the message.

   HM King also hailed the strong friendship ties between Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany, which have culminated recently in the signing of the Joint Declaration of Rabat which will undoubtedly give a strong impetus to these relations, both bilaterally and within the framework of the advanced status with the European Union.
