A statement by the ministry said that the session's results included the extension of the retirement age for 105 magistrates and the compulsory retirement of 51 others, either at their request or for having reached retirement age.
The council decided the promotion to the exceptional rank of 149 first-rank magistrates, including 5 who were in charge of exceptional rank mission.
32 second-rank magistrates were promoted to the first rank, 155 third-rank judges were promoted to the second rank, including 24 who were in charge of the said rank mission, it said.
The council also decided to put seven magistrates in the first rank.
It also decided to appoint 48 magistrates in positions of responsibility either through transfer or new appointments.
The council appointed 31 magistrates to the court of cassation.
The council, after examining transfer applications on the basis of criteria adopted for the first time, accepted 412 transfer application and transferred 26 magistrates to appeal courts pursuant to the provisions laid in the constitution. It has also decided to transfer 81 magistrates following their promotion.
Concerning disciplinary procedures, the council decided to acquit 3 magistrates, remove 4 judges from office and ordered compulsory retirement for 5 others.
