During this meeting, the two sovereigns hailed their strong personal relations which help bring together the peoples of the two kingdoms, the statement said.
His Majesty the King and the Spanish Sovereign stressed the significance of the visit which will contribute to the efforts of the two countries to reach their development goals at an ever-changing regional juncture on both sides the Mediterranean, the document said.
His Majesty the King commended the large delegation accompanying the Spanish Sovereign, which includes representatives from the government, the business community, and the academic and cultural world, the statement said.
The two leaders also welcomed the evolution of bilateral relations in recent years on the economic, cultural, political, security, technical, and social levels.
United by deep historical ties, said the press statement, the two kingdoms maintain intense and diverse relations through a dynamic and promising partnership.
The two Monarchs expressed satisfaction with the converging interests of the two countries, and their shared aspirations for the future, highlighting the increased mutual trust.
They also called on the governments and stakeholders of both countries to work together for the identification and implementation of joint actions to create wealth and make use of the opportunities that arise in all areas.
Their Majesties discussed a number of international and regional issues of common interest, the statement added.
His Majesty the King, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and the Spanish Sovereign chaired the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Spanish Confederation of Entrepreneurial Organizations (CEOE) and the General Confederation of Moroccan Businesses (CGEM).
This agreement was signed by CEOE President, Juan Rosell, and CGEM President, Meriem Bensaleh Chaqroun.
The ceremony was attended by Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Garcia Margallo Marfil, Minister of Justice, Alberto Ruiz Gallardon Jimenez, Interior Minister, Jorge Fernandez Diaz, Minister of Equipment, Ana Maria Pastor Julian, Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria Lopez, director of the Royal House, Rafael Spottorno Diaz Caro, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Gonzalo de Benito Secades and Spanish ambassador to Morocco, Alberto Jose Gonzalez Navaro.
It was also attended by Moroccan Interior Minister, Mohand Laenser, Foreign Minister, Saad Dine El Otmani, Minister of Equipment and Transport, Rebbah Aziz, Minister of Economy and Finance, Nizar Baraka, Minister of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, Abdelkader Amara, Minister-Delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Youssef Amrani, and Morocco's ambassador in Spain, Ahmed Ould Souilem.
