The projects, to be carried out by the Mohammed V solidarity Foundation for an overall investment of 22 million Dirhams, consist in a house of solidarity actions for the qualification and integration of women in Rabat’s old city and a training centre in the hospitality and tourism trade in the Guich Oudayas district in Rabat.
The two projects illustrate the Sovereign’s responsiveness to the legitimate expectations of women and young people and the interest granted by HM the King to the human element, henceforth, placed at the core of all development initiatives.
The House of solidarity actions and women integration (4 million DH) will give literacy courses and classes of local trades generating income and jobs, to consolidate the competence of women and young girls. The structure, which also supervises and support recipient women wishing to create cooperatives in the production and marketing process, consists in many workshops (pastry, traditional clothes sewing and design, embroidery, local products conditioning) literacy and tutoring classrooms, as well as other living and marketing spaces .
The hospitality and tourism training centre, also launched by the Sovereign, confirms once again the Mohammed V solidarity foundation’s option to make of training a favoured tool of social-professional integration of young people. Worth 18 million DH, the center will be specialized in training in the fields of hospitality and will support young persons wishing to create projects in the sector. It includes a pedagogical hotel (lobby, four rooms, Moroccan and modern living rooms), a food pavilion (kitchen, restaurant and conditioning room) as well as a company store, classrooms, a computer room, conference halls and administrative offices.
The Guich Oudayas district will also be the venue of a centre of training and consolidation of women competence. It targets the improvement of economic conditions of women by giving them access to income-generating activities.
Recipient women and girls will be following courses of literacy and learn trades leading to jobs and will be supervised and supported in the creation of cooperatives.
The centre, currently being built, will consist in two training workshops in cooking and pastry, sampling, literacy, and training rooms, a space for exhibition, a laundry room, a kindergarten and a space for associations.
The centre, requiring investments worth 6 million DH, will be equally financed by the Mohammed V solidarity foundation and the National human development initiative.
