The project, which will span two years, is carried out in implementation of the royal instructions on the construction of integrated complexes in the Kingdom's prefectures and provinces to spread religious values and enable the Ulemas (religious scholars) to fulfill their missions of orientation, reinforcement of religious values and preservation of public interest.
It shows HM the King's solicitude for religious affairs, mosques and councils of Ulemas, as well as the sovereign's resolve to grant religious bodies appropriate structures to promote their working conditions.
Built on a surface area of 8,700 square meters, the future facility will include an administrative pavilion hosting the headquarters of the Ulemas local council, the prefectural delegation of Islamic affairs and the endowment Nidara (regional branch), as well as a cultural complex comprising a conference room that seats 300 peoples, a library, an honor room and computer and reading rooms.
The new complex will be used for organizing cultural and religious events and will facilitate the management of community-based religious affairs.
The construction of the said facility is part of an integrated, comprehensive and multidimensional strategy led by the Ministry of endowment and Islamic affairs and concerns the building of similar complexes mainly in Oujda, Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Taroudant, Midelt, Chefchaouen, Tinghir, Khouribga, Berkane, Dakhla, Nador, Taourirt, Sidi Bennour and Benslimane.
