The CRM national week, which coincides this year with the 150th anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, was launched last Wednesday, under the patronage of HRH Princess Lalla Malika.
This week's activities (May 8-15) are marked by the organization of a medical-social campaign at the Ahmed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan establishment (May 10-12), for the benefit of population of Skhirat-Témara prefecture, under the motto "humanitarian and voluntary action to serve community-based rescue services", a statement by the CRM said.
This campaign seeks to support efforts by public health establishments to set up community-based rescue programs in harmony with the 2011-2015 strategic plan by the CRM and the broad lines of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the field of health.
Around 4,000 people will benefit from surgeries, medical check-ups and screening tests. The program includes also donation of glasses, clothes and hygiene products for partially-sighted kids.
