HM the King inaugurated the Sefrou Provincial Centre of Hemodialysis and Control of Chronic Diseases, and handed over several equipment acquired as part of the National Initiative for Human Development to promote income-generating activities, support community action in the fight against school dropout and develop sporting activities.
The 12.2 million dirham centre will contribute to improving health services provided to people with kidney failure and overcome overcrowding in the Fez University Hassan II Hospital nephrology service. It will also enable the needy to access quality health care services.
The centre, which has modern equipment and facilities, can accommodate up 120 patients per day. It has 23 dialysis generators, an at-risk patient treatment room, a water-treatment room and another for the diagnosis of chronic diseases, in addition to reception areas.
HM the King handed over an ambulance to the centre.
The Sovereign also handed equipment for the production of chicory to the agricultural cooperative COFLEC active in the production of fruits and vegetables in Imouzzer Kandar, a minibus to the Handball Club of Sefrou, two school transport buses for the rural communes Azzaba and Laanoucer, sheep of Timehdit to the agricultural cooperative "Ahl Annajah" of the rural commune Ahl Sidi Lahcen and various equipment for celebrations to the cooperative Afrah Bladi.
The 3 million dirham equipment aims at improving the income of members of recipient cooperatives.
As part of the Initiative, 121 projects are being carried out over the period 2011-2013, worth 57 million dirhams. They benefit more than 62,000 people.
