The spokesman for the Royal Palace Abdelhak Lamrini said that the Council adopted a series of draft legal texts, approved international agreements and endorsed proposals for the appointment of a number of new ambassadors.
The Council, first, adopted a draft framework law considered as national charter for the environment and sustainable development, developed in accordance with the Royal guidelines to set up a reference legal framework which sets public policies in the field of environmental protection and ensures sustainable development.
The Council then adopted a draft organic law on the Economic, Social and Environmental Council. The project aims in particular to bring the organic law governing the Economic and Social Council into line with the provisions of the new Constitution and to enrich it by new provisions in light of the Council's exercise of the missions assigned to it.
The draft law aims, mainly, to enable the Council to give its opinion on the general guidelines of the national economy, sustainable development and environmental issues. It also provides for increasing the number of the Council's members.
Moreover, the Council of Ministers approved a draft Dahir on the statutes of officers of the Royal Armed Forces.
The draft Dahir aims in particular at upgrading and modernizing the legal framework for Officers of the Royal Armed Forces, by defining the legal principles governing their statutory situation, particularly with regard to their rights, duties and obligations to HM the King, the motherland and the institutions of the Kingdom.
In the same context, the Council approved a draft decree establishing the Housing and Military Equipment Agency. The decree aims to ensure better coordination between all stakeholders in the implementation of military housing projects.
The Council approved six multilateral agreements on the protection of child rights, the fight against cybercrime, Euro-Mediterranean preferential rules of origin and annual holidays with pay, along with bilateral agreements on avoidance of double taxation, the development of cultural, educational and sports cooperation, and international road transport of passengers and goods.
Under the provisions of Article 49 of the Constitution, upon the proposal of the Head of Government, and at the initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, HM the King appointed new ambassadors.
