The ceremony began with the screening of some footage of the progress made in projects of the national pact for industrial emergence (PNEI- 2009/2015), inked in Fez on February 13, 2009.
Afterwards, Industry minister Abdelkader Amara, presented before HM the King the midterm results of the PNEI which includes six broad lines and 111 concrete, accurate and operational measures.
Highlighting the achievements made over the past four years, Amara underlined the progress made, at the level of exports and jobs, by the Moroccan sectors of aeronautics, car industry, electronics, offshoring, textile/leather, and food processing industry.
The integration of new sectors, with strong developmental potential, in the national pact for industrial emergence has become a pressing need, Amara said, adding that the chemical sector's strategy meant to develop 15 sectoral industries which will increase the sector's turnover which will jump from 50 to 150 billion dirhams and raise its contribution in the GDP from 16 to 47 billion dirhams. This initiative will also involve pharmaceutical, metallurgical, mechanical and electromechanical industries, he added.
Chairwoman of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) Miriem Bansaleh Chekroun presented measures taken by the Confederation within the framework of the PNEI, mainly those aimed at fostering SMEs' competitiveness, improving business climate and promoting training.
Othmane Benjelloun, chairman of the Moroccan banks grouping (GPBM) reaffirmed before HM the King the banking sector's full commitment to support the PNEI's implementation.
On this occasion, HM the King chaired the signing ceremony of seven partnership agreements between the government and several economic, industrial and financial operators.
Afterwards, the sovereign awarded the Alawite wissam of officer rank to Horst Rudolph, executive president of "Yazaki Europe Limited" group, and Michel Henri Pinaire, president of FSD Group's supervisory board.
The sovereign granted Al Arch wissam of knight rank to Mounia Boucetta, secretary general of the ministry of industry, trade and new technologies.
HM the King also awarded the Al Moukafaa Al Watania wissam of officer rank to Souad El Moualem, manager of Bombardier group for north Africa, to Youssef Hadda, managing director of CAPELEM company and to CEO of MAC//Z company Adnane Ladouar.
The monarch decorated with the national merit wissam of exceptional category Latifa Chihabi, head of the SMEs Agency (ANPPME) and Toufiq Moucharef, director of cooperation and communication at the Industry ministry.
HM the King awarded the national merit wissam of first category to Rabia Jenati Idrissi, head of chemical industries department at the Industry ministry and to Amal Bouklata, head of the department of tourism, trade, industry and handicraft sectors at the Economy ministry.
At the end of the ceremony, HM the King received Horst Rudolph, and Michel Henri Pinaire.
The ceremony was attended notably by the head of government, speaker of the upper house and HM the King's advisors.
