The Sovereign dedicated the first part of "Riad El Bernoussi", social housing project, the Amal hemodialysis center in "Assoukhour Assawda" and a residence for students of traditional education.
The first part of "Riad El Bernoussi" social housing project, comprises 2,004 social housing units, 70 shops, a high school, a primary school and a mosque.
Extending over a total area of 8 ha, this first part, needed investments worth 482.4 million de dirhams. It can accommodate up to 10,000 inhabitants.
Part of the national social housing program (250,000 DH for each housing unit), the "Riad El Bernoussi", launched by the sovereign in March mars 2011 will include a 2nd part comprising 1,460 social housing units and 360 middle-standing units.
It will be ready in December 2013 and will also comprise 173 shops, a school, a mosque, a police station, a socio-cultural center and a vocational training center.
The Sovereign symbolically handed keys to 10 recipients of the 1st part and visited a model-apartment.
The Amal hemodialysis center, which required an investment of over 30 million DH will reinforce treatment facilities for patients suffering from kidney failure and contribute to relieve the congestion at the Ibn Rochd University hospital in Casablanca.
It was carried out thanks to partnership between the National initiative for human development (INDH), the health ministry, the Casablanca urban commune, and Al Amal association for assistance to persons suffering from kidney failure. It has a capacity of up to 300 patients daily.
Equipped with modern tools and machinery, the center comprises 50 dialysis generators, water-treatment rooms and other rooms for medical examination in addition to space where patients are received and rest.
The residence of students of traditional education will accommodate students of coranic schools of the Casablanca Hassan II Mosque foundation.
With a capacity of 240 students, the new structure that comprises 10 dorms, a polyvalent room, a praying room, a restaurant and a computer room was an old school that was converted into a residence featuring all facilities.
The project was carried out with the contribution of a private sponsor.
These projects add up to various initiatives taken by the sovereign in the region of Grand Casablanca with the major objectives of promoting the human element and guaranteeing conditions of a dignified life to citizens.
