HM the King laid the foundation stone of a pavilion for female inmates with children, which will be carried out for 5 million dirhams and benefit from the social support by the Mohammed VI Foundation for inmates' reintegration.

The project, meant to protect kids accompanying their mothers in prisons, reflects the special interest HM the King takes in this segment of society as shows the royal speech dated January 29, 2003, in which the monarch said "the special care we devote to the social dimension in the field of justice is incomplete without the dignity we guarantee to the imprisoned citizens, which they are not denied following the court orders involving deprivation of liberty."

   On this occasion, HM the King visited the women's pavilion at the Oukacha prison, as well as the day care for the female inmates' kids. The sovereign was given details on the conditions of female inmates' imprisonment, and on the different actions undertaken by the Mohammed VI Foundation for inmates' reintegration.

    The sovereign handed kits of clothes, foodstuffs and medicines to these women and their children.

    HM the King also gave vocational training certificates to 12 graduates for the year 2011/2012 in the different disciplines available at the vocational training center at this penitentiary.

    The Monarch also handed cheques and equipment worth 467,000 dirhams to 14 women as part of the post-prison program which is meant to integrate them in the job market.
