HRH Prince Moulay Rachid toured the fair which is themed "A time for reading, a time for living", and visited several stands mainly that of the Saudi Arabia Kingdom, this edition's guest of honor.
HRH also visited the stands of Sochepresse, of "Dar Toubkal" and "Marsam" publishing houses, of the "Carrefour des livres" library, as well as that of the National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) which hosts also the Anti-Corruption Agency (ICPC), the Competition Council and the Expatriates' Council (CCME).
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid also visited the stands of the National Library, of Belgium, of the Culture Ministry, of France, of the National Institute for Amazigh Culture (IRCA), of Spain, of Algeria , of the UAE, of Latin America and a collective stand by Italy, Portugal, Germany and UK.
HRH handed the awards of "Maroc du Livre" to the winners of the year 2011.
Upon the instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, HRH decorated with royal wissams 14 figures from the culture sphere. They are Moroccans, Arabs and foreigners including 6 researchers, 4 publishers, 3 librarians and a civil society activist.
The SIEL is organized by the Culture Ministry and brings together 40 countries and over 700 exhibitors.
