After cutting the symbolic ribbon, HRH the princess was briefed about the breast and cervical cancer early detection programme in the province of Errachidia before visiting the different facilities of the new center which houses three consultation rooms for breast cancer, an ultrasound room, a pharmacy and an equipped wing equipped with an colposcope in addition to three consultation rooms for cervical cancer and a mammography room.
Spanning over an area of 420 square meters, the center was built at a total cost of 3.4 million dirhams.
The new medical facility aims to improve breast and cervical cancer diagnostic with a view to reducing mortality rates linked to these two types of cancer.
The center is designed to offer screening and diagnostic to up to 36,500 women annually. Since it started operating last January it received over 3,700 women.
The breast and cervical cancer early detection programme for the province of Errachidia will benefit
16,018 women aged between 45 and 69 years old for breast cancer and 28,020 aged between 30 and 49 for cervical cancer.
