The Sovereign was given details on the program mapped out to improve the living conditions of local population through developing the city and reinforcing its public services and infrastructures.
The project is also meant to strengthen the road network mainly through the extension and development of Hassan II Avenue.
Regarding the old médina's renovation, the project provides for restoring the city's architectural sites and reinforcing ramshackle buildings.
The equipments and services' upgrading program, nearing completion, includes mainly an indoor sports hall and a municipal swimming pool, in addition to improving a bus station and a municipal stadium and pound.
As for liquid sanitation, it involves extending its network along 22 km and setting up 930 branch-pipes and a water purification station with a flow rate of 5,000 m3 per day.
On environment protection, the plan concerns the development of Oued Ras El Ma two shores, the Khandak Essamar park, the 20 August garden and a dump for solid waste.
The Sovereign also followed a presentation on other projects as part of the city's upgrading program.
On the same occasion, HM the King inaugurated an indoor sports hall at the Mohammed VI complex for culture, arts and sports for an amount of 26.38 million dirhams
