HM the King grants donation to families of minaret collapse victims

Rabat - HM King Mohammed VI granted a donation to the families of the victims who were killed by the collapse of the minaret of Bab Berdieyinne mosque in the central city of Meknes.

The Monarch also decided to cover all medical expenses of the injured.

    On Friday, the four-century old minaret collapsed during the weekly Friday prayer, killing 41 and injuring 75 others.

    A press release of the Interior Ministry said that HM the King gave instructions to promptly renovate ramshackle buildings located in Meknes’ old city.

    The same source added that both the Interior and Housing Ministers held a meeting on Monday to examine the status of ramshackle houses in a bid to find immediate solutions to families living in these houses and take the necessary measures for the rehabilitation of damaged buildings.
