In this message, the sovereign said having painfully learnt the sad news of the death of Generla Larbi Bekheir, adding that the passing on of the deceased is a terrible loss for Algeria.

    HM the King underlined that the late ambassador was one of the courageous Algerian high-ranking officers who have fully and honorably fulfilled their role to secure freedom and independence for Algeria and build its modern state.

    Morocco has lost a prominent ambassador, a dear brother and a faithful friend, the monarch said, pointing out that the departed had strong brotherly and friendly ties with the Kingdom of Morocco which he considered a second homeland.

    HM the King recalled that this eminent ambassador endeavored in a constructive way to foster bilateral relations of sincere brotherhood and good neighborliness within the framework of the Arab Maghreb Union.   
    
    In these times of hardship and following this painful ordeal, we want to offer to your Excellency and the Algerian people, on behalf of Morocco, its King, government and people, our condolences and sincere compassion, the message said.
