Morocco was represented at this event, held on the initiative of the League of Arab States, by a delegation led by Secretary of State for Social Integration Abdeljabbar Rachidi, and comprising Moroccan Ambassador to Manama Mustapha Benkhayi, and Director of Family, Childhood and the Elderly at the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family Mohamed Ait Azizi.
Speaking on the occasion, Haifa Abou Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Department at the Arab League, called for promoting partnerships with international and regional organizations and civil society to implement the decisions of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, with the aim of improving the living conditions of Arab citizens and achieving the goals of sustainable development.
Abou Ghazalah also stressed the importance of strengthening joint action to implement the Council's decisions.
For his part, Bahraini Minister of Social Development Oussama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Chairman of the 44th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, stressed the importance of benefiting from technological progress to improve social services.
He called for coordinated efforts to foster social protection strategies, particularly for the most vulnerable categories.
At the session, attended by Arab ministers and officials concerned with social affairs, as well as representatives of specialized Arab and international organizations, the Bahraini minister stressed the need to implement decisions agreed upon in cooperation with member states and the Council's technical secretariat.
The ministerial meeting examined the outcomes of the high-level event on productive families and entrepreneurship, held in Manama on Tuesday, and adopted recommendations aimed at supporting entrepreneurship projects and achieving effective social inclusion.
