In a resolution adopted at the end of its meetings, the Executive Office called on the Arab media to highlight the Agency's efforts in defending the Palestinian cause and its support for Al-Quds inhabitants.
Morocco took part in the 102nd session of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, with a delegation led by Mustapha Amedjar, Director of Communication and Public Relations at the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, and including Khadija Qaramda, Head of the Ministry's Cooperation Division.
The Moroccan delegation took an active part in examining the items on the session's agenda, alongside several senior Arab officials, including Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO), Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, Saudi Minister of Media and Chairman of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information, Rachid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary General for Media and Communication at the League of Arab States, and information ministers from several Arab countries.
During the discussions, Amedjar stressed the need to boost joint Arab media cooperation, by stepping up joint efforts and promoting coordination, consultation and the exchange of expertise in order to transcend the enormous challenges posed and promote media capable of consolidating Arab identity and meeting the aspirations of the region's peoples.
He stressed the importance of intensifying and unifying efforts to improve and develop Arab media, and of continuing to upgrade them to keep pace with developments in their environment, advocating media as an effective player in the defense of common Arab issues, the promotion of societies and the development of countries in the region.
The meetings of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media and the Executive Office of Arab Ministers of Information covered several key topics, including the evolution of the action plan for media abroad, the Arab Electronic Media Committee and the role of Arab media in fighting terrorism.
