The agreement, signed by the president of the Region's Chamber of Crafts, Abderrahim Zemzami, and AWIP's Continental and North Africa Presidents respectively, Arzika Rabiatou Mamadou and Loubna Karroum, is part of the development of the crafts sector in Africa. It marks the start of an unprecedented collaboration between the two parties.
Under the terms of the agreement, both parties are committed to strengthening craft skills and promoting ongoing training initiatives covering all 54 countries on the continent.
The partnership's main objectives include supporting women processors in training and capacity-building, encouraging innovation, preserving craft heritage and promoting quality.
It also involves the organization of joint projects, events, trade shows and exchanges of experience, as well as the upgrading of skills of craftsmen and trainers to ensure the sector's inclusive and sustainable growth.
