The Roundtable’s opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, as well as several officials from bilateral, regional and international development partners.

Morocco-Burundi ties have grown stronger and more diverse over the years, in line with the wishes expressed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and HE President Evariste Ndayishimiye.

The Moroccan delegation, led by Ambassador Mohamed Methqal, Director General of the Moroccan Agency of International Cooperation (AMCI), includes several officials representing ministries, public establishments, private-sector companies and banking and financial stakeholders.

These include the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Land Planning, Housing and City Policy, the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion, the Deposit and Management Fund, the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water, the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines, the Moroccan Agency for Tourism development, the OCP Group, Al Omrane Group, Bank of Africa, ATTIJARI WAFA Bank, as well as Dakhla’s African Chamber of Commerce and Services.

This roundtable aims to share the Burundian government's Vision for socio-economic development, as well as the reforms planned and underway, in order to mobilize all stakeholders and the financial resources needed to implement Vision 2040-2060.
