ANRE Reform Signals a New Era for Renewable Energy Expansion in Morocco – French Expert

Paris - The reform of the National Authority for Electricity Regulation (ANRE) marks a new stage in the expansion of renewable energy (RE) in Morocco, aiming to become a key supplier for Europe, emphasized French editorialist Alfred Mignot des Campani, an expert in African economies, on Thursday in Paris.

Thanks to the Royal Vision, Morocco has already become a global reference in the RE sector, with renewable energy capacities covering approximately 40% of the country's electricity mix, said Mignot des Campani, Director of the agency "AfricaPresse.Paris," in a statement to MAP.

Highlighting flagship projects that demonstrate "Morocco's commitment to embedding its energy strategy in sustainability" (wind farms, MASEN, solar complexes, green hydrogen, etc.), the president of the "Africa Club of the Paris Press" noted that “this vast ambition to boost production and foster international openness is the result of the strategic vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”

This vision is now being realized through the appointment of a new ANRE president and the reform of the institution, aligning with the maturity level reached by the energy sectors in the Kingdom.
