The two awards were presented to Mohamed Ait Ouali, Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, at the headquarters of the League's General Secretariat, in a ceremony attended by several figures including the Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi, the Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Director General of the Arab Administrative Development Organization Nasser al-Qahtani.
The Arab Government Excellence Award was launched by the United Arab Emirates in 2019, in partnership with the League of Arab States, represented by the Arab Administrative Development Administration, with the aim of contributing to administrative development and governmental institutional excellence, stimulating leadership thinking and celebrating successful administrative and governmental experiences in Arab countries.
