The Riyadh Summit said, in its final communiqué released on Monday, that foremost among these rights is the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and to an independent sovereign State within the June 4, 1967 borders, with Al-Quds East as its capital, as well as the right of return and compensation for refugees in accordance with the relevant resolutions of international legality, in addition to confronting any attempt to deny or obliterate these rights.
The Summit also reaffirmed the State of Palestine’s full sovereignty over the occupied Al-Quds East, Palestine’s eternal capital, and rejected any Israeli decision or measure aiming at its Judaization, noting that the Holy City is a red line for Arab and Islamic nations.
The Summit expressed its full mobilization in protecting the Arab and Islamic identity of the occupied Al-Quds East, reaffirming its absolute support to the Republic of Lebanon, its security, its stability, its sovereignty and the security of its citizens.
It also reiterated the decisions taken at the first Joint Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh in November 2023, while working to put an end to the repercussions of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and continuing to act with the international community to put an end to Israel's serious violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
The Summit also condemned the Israeli war against Lebanon, as well as its violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling for an immediate ceasefire and the full implementation of the UN Security Council resolution 1701 (2006).
In the same vein, the final communiqué urged the international community to work actively to compel Israel to respect international law, while denouncing double standards in the implementation of international law, international humanitarian law and the UN Charter.
The communiqué also called on the Security Council to take a decision compelling Israel to put an end to these illegal policies, which undermine peace and security in the region, and to implement the relevant UN resolutions relating to the city of Al-Quds Asharif.
It also called for all forms of political and diplomatic support and international protection for the Palestinian people and the State of Palestine, and to consolidate Palestinian national unity to enable the State of Palestine to assert its authority over the whole of the Palestinian territory, including the Gaza Strip, and to unify it with the West Bank, including the city of Al-Quds, while providing economic support to the State of Palestine through backing for its efforts in humanitarian aid programs, economic recovery and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
