The suspect, a repeat offender, was threatening the hospital's medical and administrative staff with two bladed weapons, forcing the police officer in charge of securing emergency services to resort to use of his duty weapon, the same source stated, adding that the offender was injured in the lower limbs after refusing to comply and violently resisting arrest.
The defendant was placed in police custody under medical supervision at the hospital, pending a judicial investigation ordered by the public prosecutor's office, in order to shed light on the circumstances of this criminal act, the security source concluded.
