Initiated by ONDE under the banner “Agissons ensemble” (Let's Act Together), the campaign, spearheaded by HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, testifies to Morocco's determination to protect children from school bullying, a global scourge requiring everyone's commitment.
The campaign comprises several parallel actions, including the distribution of a school bullying awareness capsule to 3,770 middle and high schools, and the design and development of the “iTyhad” app, designed to combat and prevent bullying in schools. It also provides for launching a three-year training program to combat bullying and cyberbullying, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Meryem and Ms Brigitte Macron followed a presentation by four engineering students, a child and a child psychiatrist from the “iTyhad” app, developed during the first edition of the “e-tofoula Hackathon”, initiated by Her Royal Highness last March and which had brought together 15 universities.
Her Royal Highness and Ms Brigitte Macron then watched an awareness-raising video on bullying in schools, simultaneously broadcast in 3,300 multimedia rooms of the French Ministry of Education, and attended a workshop with 14 middle-school students, led by a child psychiatrist and a psychologist from the ONDE program.
HRH Princess Lalla Meryem and Ms Brigitte Macron viewed another video on the achievements of the Children's Parliament, created in 1999 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him. This institution enables young people to become true spokespersons for children in their dealings with Parliament and the government, while at the same time acting as a driving force in advancing a specific cause at the heart of their mandate.
On this occasion, the ONDE recalled the commitment of HRH Princess Lalla Meryem to ensuring the implementation of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) for 30 years, since the creation of the National Observatory for Children's Rights in 1994 by late His Majesty King Hassan II.
Several of the ONDE's tools and mechanisms were presented on this occasion, in particular the "2511" toll-free number for child victims of violence. This number enables any child or witness to report situations of abuse. Over the years, this system has grown to become a genuine platform for listening and emergency intervention, bringing together not only professional listeners, but also psychologists, doctors and lawyers committed to and trained by ONDE in the specific needs of children.
HRH Princess Lalla Meryem and Ms Brigitte Macron were then greeted by Supreme Council of the Judicial Power Deputy President Mohamed Abdennabaoui, King's Prosecutor General and President of the Public Prosecutor's Office El Hassan Daki, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports Mohammed Saad Berrada, Health and Social Protection Minister Amine Tahraoui, Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family Naima Ben Yahia, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra Wali and Rabat Governor Mohamed Yacoubi, INDH Wali in Charge of National Coordination Mohamed Eddardouri, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra Regional Council President Rachid El Abdi, Rabat Communal Council President Fatiha El Moudni, Rabat Prefectural Council President Abdelaziz Derouiche, and ONDE Vice-President Ghizlane Benjelloun.
